Admissions Policy

The relationship between a child’s parent and a setting is crucial to the child’s well-being. The welfare, safety and protection of your child are at the heart of everything we do. To enable us to make the best provision for your child we are officially required to ask for information to be provided to us. Please understand that there are sound reasons why we are required to ask these questions. We want to help keep your child safe, it is not just that we are being curious. Thank you for your co-operation.

Ducklings is a playgroup which is open Tuesday’s and Wednesday’s during school term time. Children can join usually from two years and can stay with us up until the year they are 5 years old (by legal requirement). Duckling’s has wheelchair access and is situated on the ground floor of the building with double doors to the children’s room which allow easy access.  Ducklings can take a maximum of 22 children, we are restricted to these numbers by Ofsted regulations, but will do all that is practicable to meet your needs.  We are an inclusive setting and will not discriminate against any child who applies to attend. Please see our inclusion policy.

Admissions Procedure

Firstly, as per the settling-in policy, we recommend that you come for a visit, see us in action and meet the staff.  We kindly request that you arrange for an appointment time so that our Manager, can give you their undivided attention whilst they show you around the building and discuss any questions or concerns you may have.  We will need your completed registration forms and permissions filled in and returned before your child may start so that we have accurate and up-to-date records of your child.
